About Mrs. Iwema

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Iwema and this is my fifth year teaching at Georgetown.  I was a reading teacher for the last four years but this fall I will be teaching Kindergarten!  I am so excited about this new opportunity and look forward to a wonderful year of learning and growth with the children in my class.  I LOVE working at Georgetown and feel extremely blessed to be a part of such an amazing group of educators.

Aside from teaching, some other things I enjoy include: swimming, biking, jogging, the beach, coffee, traveling and spending time with my friends and family.  Last July, my husband and I welcomed our first child, Jacob.  We have so much fun with him and enjoy watching him grow and learn new things.  During the next few months, we will be spending time with Jake in Nana and Papa’s pool, playing outside, and trying out some of his new toys…maybe he’ll even take a few of his first steps.  We’ll see :)

I will be setting up my new classroom this summer and working with the other Kindergarten teachers to prepare for the 2012-2013 school year.  I am certain that we will plan many fun and exciting things for our students.  Be sure to sign up for blog updates so that you stay informed.  This will be my primary way of communicating with parents throughout the year.  As the school-year approaches, I will post a school supply list and information about Open House.

Feel free to contact me through email (jiwema@hpseagles.net) if you have any questions or concerns prior to meeting at Open House.  Otherwise, enjoy your summer and I look forward to meeting you all at the end of August!

Kindly,

Julie Iwema
